Moving & Storage in Atlanta, GA

When your move-out and move-in dates don't line up, LIOO's licensed crews load, transport, and stage your belongings into storage — and bring them back when you're ready. One team, one hourly rate, no juggling a truck and a storage run yourself.

Quick answer

Moving & storage is a single service where the same crew that packs and loads your home also moves it into a storage unit, portable container, or short-term hold — then delivers it to your new place. LIOO handles the labor and transport at a straightforward hourly rate; you (or we) arrange the storage space. It's the fastest fix for gaps between a closing, a lease end, a staging window, or a renovation.

When moving and storage go together

Metro-Atlanta moves rarely happen on a clean, same-day handoff. Storage bridges the gap in the situations we see most:

  • A gap between closings. Your sale closes before your purchase — belongings need somewhere to live for a few days or weeks.
  • A lease that ends early. Move out on the landlord's date, move in on yours, without paying for an overlap month.
  • Staging a home for sale. Clear the excess so the house shows well, then bring it back or deliver it to the new address.
  • Downsizing. Hold the pieces you haven't decided on while you settle in.
  • Renovation or repair. Get furniture out of the work zone and protected until the dust settles.
  • Overflow. Seasonal items, a home office, or a room's worth of furniture that doesn't fit yet.

What LIOO handles

LIOO is a mover, not a self-storage facility — which means we do the heavy, careful part and coordinate the rest around your storage space:

  • Loading and unloading storage units — we pad, wrap, stack, and reload your unit efficiently so you use the space you're paying for.
  • Portable container loading — PODs, U-Box, and moving containers loaded (or unloaded) to a schedule that matches the carrier's pickup window.
  • Short-term hold-over — case-by-case, when the destination isn't accessible until the next day.
  • Coordinating storage during a move — we sequence the move so your belongings go into storage and come out in the right order.
  • Packing and protection — padding, shrink wrap, and dollies so items survive the round trip. Add full packing services if you'd like us to box it too.

Prefer to keep your own truck or container? Our loading & unloading crews do labor-only storage jobs by the hour.

How a moving & storage job works

  1. Tell us the plan. Origin, destination, storage location (yours or one you need help choosing), rough inventory, and your date gap.
  2. We stage the load. Crews pad and wrap everything, load in reverse-delivery order so the first items you'll need come out first.
  3. Into storage. We transport and stack the unit or load the container — tight, protected, and inventoried.
  4. Back out on your date. When you're ready, the same operation runs in reverse into your new home.

What it costs

Storage moves use the same all-inclusive hourly rate as any LIOO local job — crew, truck, pads, and equipment included, billed on the actual time worked, with a 2.5-hour minimum (3 hours on weekends, same-day bookings, and moves 25+ miles from downtown). You're charged for two labor events (into storage, then out) rather than one, plus the storage-space rental itself if you're renting a unit or container. There's no surge pricing and no day-of upcharge. Every item is covered by released valuation at $0.60 per pound; full-value protection can be added before the job.

Moving & storage FAQ

Does LIOO rent storage units?+
We're a moving company, so we provide the crew, truck, and careful handling — we load and unload storage units, PODs, and containers, and coordinate short-term hold-over. If you don't have a unit yet, tell us the size of your load and we'll help you figure out what you need.
Can you store my belongings overnight or for a few days?+
Short-term hold-over is available case-by-case — usually when your destination isn't accessible until the next morning. For longer storage, we load your rented unit or container and return to unload it on your schedule.
How is a storage move priced?+
The same all-inclusive hourly rate as any local move, billed on actual time, with a 2.5-hour minimum. A storage move typically involves two labor events — loading into storage and unloading out of it — plus your storage-space rental.
Are my items insured while you handle them?+
LIOO is a Licensed Georgia Household Goods Carrier and our crews are insured. Every job includes released valuation at $0.60 per pound per item; full-value protection can be elected before the job starts.
Do you load PODs and moving containers?+
Yes — we load and unload PODs, U-Box, and moving containers, working to the carrier's pickup window. See our container loading & unloading service.
