Antique Moving · Atlanta, GA
Antiques and heirlooms aren't replaceable, so they aren't moved like ordinary furniture. LIOO's crews blanket-wrap, pad, and secure fragile and high-value pieces — assessed in advance for weight, access, and the safest way to carry them.
Quick answer
Antique moving is careful handling built into a regular move: the same licensed crew that moves your home wraps and pads fragile heirlooms, plans the route through doorways and stairs, and carries them slowly and by hand. LIOO moves antiques across metro Atlanta at an hourly rate, with delicate or heavy pieces assessed in advance for the right crew and protection.
Antiques are part of our broader furniture moving work, so heirlooms can move with the rest of your household in a single job.
For an especially valuable or fragile piece, tell us in advance — some heirlooms are best moved on their own trip or with extra materials, and we'd rather plan it than improvise on move day.
Antique moving is billed at LIOO's all-inclusive hourly rate — from $160/hour, crew, truck, pads, and protection included — on the actual time worked, with a 2.5-hour minimum (3 hours on weekends, same-day bookings, and moves 25+ miles from downtown). There's no flat "antique fee"; what moves the price is the care and access involved:
You get the hourly rate and an honest time estimate before you book — see the Atlanta moving cost guide. Every piece is covered by released valuation at $0.60/lb, with full-value protection available for higher-value antiques.
Decide on coverage before we lift anything. Released valuation is calculated by weight — $0.60 per pound per item — which stays small on a light, high-value piece: a 40 lb heirloom desk works out to about $24 on that basis. If a piece deserves protection at its real value, ask for full-value protection when you book — it must be elected before the job starts and can't be added once the piece is on the truck. Name the specific pieces you want covered, and both the coverage and the handling plan are set before the crew arrives.
Tell us the pieces and the access at both ends — we'll assess them, quote the hourly rate, and bring the right crew and materials to protect what can't be replaced.
