- Exit, window and certificate named on the written quote
A Buckhead move is decided before the truck leaves the yard: which freight window the tower released, which GA-400 exit puts a 26-foot truck at the dock instead of on Peachtree, and whether a Piedmont Road lane closure or a Road Race barricade sits between the addresses. Dispatch settles all three on the call and sizes the crew to the window.
Buckhead is the northern third of the City of Atlanta, split by GA-400 and strung along Peachtree Road from Brookwood Hills to the Perimeter. Three ZIP codes carry the moving traffic: 30305 (the Peachtree spine, Buckhead Village, Garden Hills and Roswell Road), 30326 (the Lenox–Phipps tower cluster) and 30324 (Lindbergh, Peachtree Hills and Piedmont Road); the estate corridor west of Northside Drive is 30327, on its own Paces page. Three MARTA stations, three GA-400 exits and a July 4 race that closes Peachtree set the calendar; LIOO Moving bills it hourly from $160, 2.5-hour weekday minimum.

Towers, the Loop, the Village, the corridors and the 1920s streets
Five kinds of Buckhead address, five different days
The building sets the plan. What each address type does to the truck, the crew and the clock:
Peachtree Road condo towers, 30305 to 30326
Sovereign, Buckhead Grand, Park Avenue Condominiums, the St. Regis Residences on West Paces Ferry, the Ritz-Carlton Residences at Peachtree and Lenox — full-service buildings that move through a loading dock and one padded freight cab, never the lobby. The front desk releases a window — commonly four hours, often weekdays only — once the certificate of insurance is on file. Dispatch asks three things: dock clearance for a box truck, whether the cab is key-switched to move mode, and what happens at minute 241. That answer sets the crew size. apartment and condo crews see these most weeks.
Lenox–Phipps rental towers and the Buckhead Loop cluster, 30326
The apartment high-rises between Lenox Road, Phipps Boulevard and the Buckhead Loop share their docks with retail deliveries, so a morning window can open with a linen truck in the bay. The Lenox Road Boardwalk has the Lenox Road curb between East Paces Ferry and Peachtree under construction through 2026, and the Wieuca–Phipps roundabout — Atlanta's first two-lane roundabout — takes a box truck around the outside lane at walking speed. Approach from GA-400 Exit 2 onto the Loop, not from Peachtree.
Buckhead Village District condos and townhome stacks, 30305
The nine-acre district between Peachtree, East Paces Ferry, Pharr Road and North Fulton Drive — The Shops Buckhead Atlanta until 2020 — runs on cobblestone lanes, valet stands and delivery windows. Condos above the retail load from a garage or service court; the townhome rows on Pharr and Grandview load from a curb restaurants own by 11 a.m., so crews stage by 7:30 or take the 2-to-5 p.m. lull.
Roswell Road and Lindbergh apartment corridors, 30305 north and 30324
North of Peachtree, Roswell Road is three-story garden apartments with breezeway stairs and lots the truck can actually enter. Around Lindbergh Center station the mid-rises of Uptown Atlanta — the former Lindbergh City Center between Morosgo Drive and Lindbergh Drive, west of Piedmont — load from garage decks with a 7-foot clearance bar, so the truck holds the curb on Main Street or Morosgo Drive and the carry runs through the deck to the cab; Eon at Lindbergh on Camellia Lane, Avana on Main and Willowest in Lindbergh are the same plan. East of GA-400 the Sidney Marcus corridor turns into gated condo mid-rises — Lenox Villas on Sidney Marcus, Lenox Heights on Pine Heights Drive — where the truck enters the lot and the gate code, not a dock, is what dispatch confirms the day before. Piedmont between Peachtree and Lenox is under widening through November 2026; the approach rule — Piedmont northbound only, never down it mid-day — is row 1 of the Ramp & Dock Sheet below.
Garden Hills, Peachtree Hills, Peachtree Heights and Pine Hills — the 1920s-to-40s streets
Bungalows and cottages on narrow two-lane streets between Peachtree and Piedmont: no-curb frontage, short or missing driveways, oak limbs at 11 feet, original stairwells. The truck parks on the street with cones, the walk runs 60 to 150 feet, and every heavy piece clears a 30-inch door. North Buckhead's ranches off Wieuca and Old Ivy (30342, shared with Sandy Springs) run the same way with longer drives, and PATH400 construction north of Loridans closes some shoulders into the first quarter of 2027. Tuxedo Park and the West Paces Ferry estates are a different job on a different page — our West Paces Ferry estate crews handle 30327.
The three facts that price a tower
One sheet, one quote, one window
The requirements sheet and the window the desk released are enough: crew size, hours, the exit and the certificate come back on one page.
Freeway exits, Peachtree lanes and the days it closes
The Buckhead Ramp & Dock Sheet
Every Buckhead estimate carries this sheet: which freeway exit lands a truck at which dock, what is under construction in 2026, and the dates Peachtree simply closes.
Part 1 — GA-400 exits, Peachtree lanes and the 2026 construction state
GA-400 has three Buckhead exits and they are not interchangeable. Exit 1B, Sidney Marcus Boulevard, is a southbound-only exit — it serves a truck coming down from the Perimeter, not one coming up from the city. Exit 2, the Lenox Road and Buckhead Loop connector, is the one for Lenox Square, Phipps and the Loop towers. Exit 3, the Glenridge Connector, reaches North Buckhead from the north without touching Lenox. Dispatch writes the exit and the approach street on every estimate.
| Ramp or corridor | Where it puts a 26-foot truck | 2026 state |
|---|---|---|
| GA-400 Exit 1B — Sidney Marcus Boulevard | Lindbergh, the Piedmont Road mid-rises and Peachtree Hills, reaching Piedmont northbound; southbound exit only, so from the city the truck comes up Piedmont instead | Piedmont Road widening, Peachtree to Lenox, five lanes to seven, runs to November 29, 2026; one southbound lane closed weekdays 9 to 4 |
| I-85 Exit 88 — Lenox Road / Cheshire Bridge Road (southbound only) | Sidney Marcus east of GA-400 — Lenox Villas, Lenox Heights and the Pine Hills south streets — by Cheshire Bridge or Lenox Road; northbound on I-85 the truck takes Exit 89 at North Druid Hills and comes back on Cheshire Bridge, or GA-400 to Exit 2 and down Lenox Road | No rebuild on the corridor; GA-400 Exit 1B is the matching southbound-only exit on the other freeway, so from the city the truck still comes up Piedmont to Sidney Marcus |
| GA-400 Exit 2 — Lenox Road / Buckhead Loop | The Loop's arc: Lenox Square docks, Phipps Boulevard, the Loop apartment towers, Peachtree at Buckhead station | Lenox Road Boardwalk, Section I from the Lenox MARTA station at East Paces Ferry to Peachtree, finishing 2026, mostly nighttime lane closures; Sections II and III, Peachtree to Phipps and the GA-400 pedestrian bridge, build 2027 to 2029 |
| GA-400 Exit 3 — Glenridge Connector | Peachtree Dunwoody, Johnson Ferry, North Buckhead's Wieuca and Old Ivy streets from the north, without touching Lenox | Wieuca–Phipps two-lane roundabout complete — outside lane, low gear, no lane change in the circle |
| Peachtree Road through the core | Loading zones only — every dock is reached from a side street, Pharr, East Paces Ferry, Maple or Lenox, never a Peachtree curb | Complete Street finished in three phases, the last, Maple Drive to Shadowlawn, in 2023; no rebuild, but shut end to end for the Peachtree Road Race on July 4 and the Peachtree Junior the morning of July 3 |
Part 2 — The days Peachtree closes, 2026
The Peachtree Road Race starts at Lenox Square, so Buckhead loses its spine for a day and a half over July 4; Chastain show nights and the Lenox–Phipps holiday season take the curbs and ramps for hours at a time. Each of these dates is written onto the estimate as its own line, or the date moves.
| Date (2026) | What closes | What dispatch does |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, July 3 — from midnight | Peachtree from Lenox Road to Lenox Parkway, the Road Race start, closed through 10 a.m. July 4; Peachtree from Lenox Road to Piedmont closed 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. for the Peachtree Junior | No Lenox-side tower moves July 3. Village and Garden Hills moves run, entering from Pharr or Piedmont |
| Saturday, July 4 — 4:30 to 10 a.m., course open again about 11:30 | Peachtree from Lenox to Peachtree Dunwoody; Lenox Road from Peachtree to Ferncliff; the Buckhead Loop from Peachtree to Lenox Road; Wieuca from Phipps to Roxboro; Roxboro from Kingsboro to Peachtree Dunwoody; Oak Valley; then the course down Peachtree from Piedmont to 10th, 5 to 11:30 a.m., reopening in rolling sections from 9:30 | Nothing loads north of Peachtree Battle before noon; that morning's requests move to the afternoon or July 5 |
| Summer show nights — Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park | Show lots open about an hour before gates, around 4 p.m. on most dates, and the park-side streets fill with event parking from late afternoon | Chastain-side and North Buckhead moves start at 8 a.m. and finish before the lots open, or run the next morning |
| Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's | Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza traffic backs the Loop, Lenox Road and the Exit 2 ramps from late morning every weekend | 30326 tower moves take the first weekday window; the Saturday before Christmas is not offered Lenox-side |
The sheet does not promise a building's rules — those change with management companies — and it does not replace the requirements sheet the front desk hands you; send that one and the estimate is built around it.
How the truck gets in
From the office the truck runs north on Piedmont Avenue, which becomes Piedmont Road, to Lindbergh and Peachtree Hills, or up Peachtree past Brookwood Hills to the Village. From I-85 it takes GA-400 north to Exit 2 for the Loop, Lenox Square and Phipps, or Exit 3 for North Buckhead; coming down from the Perimeter, Exit 3 serves the same streets and Exit 1B drops it at Sidney Marcus for Lindbergh. Village and Garden Hills addresses are entered from Pharr Road or East Paces Ferry, never from a Peachtree curb, and Piedmont Road between Peachtree and Lenox is avoided southbound on weekdays between 9 and 4 while it is widened. A tower-to-tower move inside Buckhead is written up at fifteen minutes; Buckhead to Midtown down Peachtree at twenty.

Brackets first, then the hourly card
What a Buckhead move costs, bracket by bracket
Crew and truck are billed by the hour; blankets, dollies, shrink wrap, assembly and disassembly are included, with no separate charge for stairs, carry distance, fuel or the drive out from the office. A tower never changes the rate; it changes how many hours the window, the carry and the exit take. The published brackets come first, then the hourly card the invoice is actually written from.

Three things that stretch a Buckhead estimate
The freight window, more than the furniture. A two-bedroom is 40 to 60 pieces down one cab; with two movers the cab sits empty while both are in the unit, and a four-hour window closes at piece 45. The third mover — $200 instead of $160 an hour — is the cheapest insurance on the page: $160 more for the window against an extension fee or a second day. Second is the walk: a Peachtree Hills street with no driveway adds roughly 45 minutes to a two-bedroom, about $150 at the three-mover rate. Third is the approach — a truck sent down Piedmont at 10 a.m. on a weekday sits in the widening, which is why every estimate names the exit and approach street. Labor-only for a rental truck or container runs from $140 an hour for two movers with the same tiered minimum. A 25% reservation deposit holds the date and comes off the final invoice.
Five buildings, five kinds of job
Tower to tower, tower to house, suite to suite
Tower to tower, and tower to house
Two docks, two windows, one crew — the earlier window at the origin, the later one at the destination; the standard Buckhead-to-Midtown day, detailed on our high-rise and apartment moving service.
Loading a rental truck or container
Rented the truck yourself? Labor-only crews load or unload it from $140 an hour for two movers, on the same tiered minimum. A container on a Village or Garden Hills street is a question for the City before it is a question for us — the driveway is the usual answer.
Downsizing into the upper-Peachtree senior residences
The senior residences on upper Peachtree take moves by appointment through a service entrance — condo-style certificate, a smaller elevator, a shorter window — planned by our downsizing and senior moving team.
Offices at Tower Place, Piedmont Center and the Lenox towers
Suite relocations run after hours through the building's dock: property management releases the freight car and the dock for a weeknight or weekend window, the certificate names both the landlord and the management company, and the crew is sized from an equipment list and how long the office can be down — not from the square footage — on the same rate card as a household move. Tower Place, Piedmont Center and the Lenox Road towers all work this way; the written quote follows a walkthrough, through our office relocation service.
Packing before the window opens, storage across the gap
Tower windows are too short to pack inside, so kitchens and closets are boxed the day before through packing services on the crew-only card. When a closing and a lease overlap, short-term storage is two crew visits on the hourly card — the first empties the tower into a unit you rent, the second lands it at the house on closing day; LIOO is the crew and the truck, not the facility.
Paperwork the building will ask about
The license, the coverage, and the certificate the desk asks for
LIOO Moving holds a Georgia household-goods carrier license from the Department of Public Safety's Motor Carrier Compliance Division, carries cargo and liability coverage, and includes released-value protection at $0.60 per pound on every move, and walks through the full-value options before a date is held. Towers and condo associations here want a certificate naming the building's ownership and management company as additional insured, at limits set on their requirements sheet; dispatch issues it to match, for the origin and the destination alike, and it reaches the front desk before the freight reservation is confirmed. Every job on this page is an in-state move; a move out of Georgia is quoted on its own as a long-distance job.
LIOO Moving keeps no storefront in Buckhead; the company is based at 691 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue NE, Suite U-02, in Old Fourth Ward — about six miles down Peachtree from the Village — with operations offices in East Point and Alpharetta.
What you send, what comes back, what happens on the day
From requirements sheet to held date, in three exchanges
A Buckhead date is held after three unbilled steps: the sheet you send, the quote that comes back, and the morning the driver takes the exit written on it. The quote form or a call opens the first one.
Send the requirements sheet
Both addresses, the building's requirements sheet, the reserved window and the home size. Without a sheet from the desk, dispatch sends you the four questions to ask.
What the quote comes back with
The written quote carries crew size, rate, estimated hours, the GA-400 exit and approach street, where the truck sits at both ends, and any closure or construction line; nothing is held until you have read it. You reserve the elevator or dock with the front desk; the certificate goes to the building once the reservation is confirmed.
The day itself
The driver takes the exit on the sheet and checks in at the dock or valet; the crew pads the cab and common areas; the unit empties heaviest-first; the cab goes back to the desk before the window closes. Nothing is billed for the drive up from Dobbs Avenue.
Honest limits: two weeks usually lands a weekday tower window, but a tower with weekday-only windows cannot be moved on a Saturday however early you call, and Lenox-side windows in the last week of any month book two or three weeks ahead. A studio in a Roswell Road garden apartment booked by 9 a.m. can usually be moved by 2 p.m. on the same-day minimum; the same-day page explains how those windows work.
Eleven questions, in the order they come up
Before you book a Buckhead crew, the questions that come up
My tower only releases four-hour freight windows on weekdays. Can a two-bedroom really fit?
With three movers and the truck already at the dock, yes — the standard Buckhead two-bedroom, $800 for the window. With two it usually runs over, because the cab is empty whenever both are in the unit. Ask the front desk what happens when the window ends — an extension fee, or another day. If it is another day, we send four movers ($240 an hour) and finish with margin.
Which GA-400 exit should the truck take for a Lenox Road or Phipps building, and does the Piedmont Road work matter?
Exit 2, onto the Buckhead Loop, approaching the dock from the Loop or Phipps Boulevard rather than Peachtree. Piedmont matters if either address is near Lindbergh: it is being widened between Peachtree and Lenox through November 29, 2026, with a southbound lane closed weekdays 9 to 4, so the truck reaches Lindbergh on Piedmont northbound — from Sidney Marcus if it is coming down GA-400 from the Perimeter, since Exit 1B is a southbound-only exit, or up Piedmont from the south. The estimate names the exit and street for both ends.
We're moving the July 4 weekend near Lenox Square. Is that realistic?
Not the morning of July 4, 2026, and not July 3 for a Lenox-side tower, because the AJC Peachtree Road Race starts at Lenox Square. Peachtree from Lenox Road to Lenox Parkway closes at midnight July 3 for the start line; on the 4th Lenox Road, the Buckhead Loop, Wieuca, Roxboro and Oak Valley close 4:30 to 10 a.m. and the course down Peachtree reopens in sections from 9:30. Village, Garden Hills and Roswell Road moves run both days from the Pharr or Piedmont side; Lenox and Phipps addresses move the afternoon of the 4th or on July 5, on the weekend minimum of 3 hours.
Our condo is in the Buckhead Village District — where does a truck even park on those cobblestone streets?
Usually nowhere on the street. Condos above the retail load from the garage or the service court off North Fulton Drive; townhomes on Pharr and Grandview load from a coned curb before 10 a.m. or between 2 and 5 p.m., because deliveries and valet own it otherwise. Dispatch confirms the loading point with your association before the date, so the driver is not circling the district with a 26-foot truck.
Our Garden Hills bungalow has no driveway and the street is barely two lanes. Do you need a smaller truck?
Usually not — in Garden Hills the 26-foot truck parks on the street with cones and the crew walks 60 to 150 feet, and that walk is priced as time on the hourly rate, never as a stair or carry fee. What changes the plan is canopy: an oak limb under 11 feet over the curb stops the truck short and lengthens the walk, so send a photo of the frontage with the request. Inside, 30-inch doors and original stair turns are why the heaviest pieces go first and get disassembled on the porch.
Third-floor breezeway on Roswell Road, one-bedroom, nothing huge. Is the 2.5-hour minimum going to cover it?
Usually the minimum plus about an hour: 3.5 to 4.5 hours with two movers, $560 to $720 on a weekday; a Saturday date or a same-day call bills from the 3-hour tier, $480. Breezeway stairs are open-air and straight, faster than an interior stairwell, and the lot puts the truck within 30 feet of them. What pushes it past that is the destination — landing in a Peachtree tower, the window and the cab set the pace.
My Buckhead building's freight elevator is tiny, and last month one of the elevators was out for weeks. What happens to my move if the freight car is down on the day?
The move runs on the shared residential cab and costs time, not a fee. Sharing the residents' cab, or squeezing a tiny freight car, costs a Lenox or Peachtree Road tower roughly an hour on that side — $200 on a three-mover crew — because residents ride between every load and more pieces have to come apart to fit the car. Before the date, ask the front desk two things: the cab's inside dimensions, and whether a shorter freight block, or a paid one, is on offer once the car is back in service. Both answers go on the written estimate, and the hourly rate does not move whether or not the freight car is running that morning.
How do you keep a Buckhead condo tower's floors, walls and elevator from getting damaged, and what happens if something breaks?
The cab and the common corridors are padded before the first piece moves, hardwood and lobby floors get runners where the building requires them, and every large piece leaves the unit blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped. LIOO Moving includes released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per item on every job, capped at $2,000 per move ($1,000 on labor-only); full-value protection is optional and has to be elected before the job starts. A damage claim has to reach LIOO Moving within two calendar days of the move, with the order number and photos — later claims are denied. Building damage is reported to the front desk the same day, before the walkthrough that releases the elevator.
Can I get movers in Buckhead today?
Often, yes — for an apartment or a house that does not need a reserved freight window. LIOO Moving runs same-day moves in Buckhead on the 3-hour same-day minimum, $480 for two movers and a truck, and a Roswell Road or Stratford Road walk-up booked by 9 a.m. can usually be loaded by early afternoon. A Peachtree Road or Lenox-side tower is the exception: those buildings release the freight car by reservation, often weekdays only, so a same-day tower move depends on the front desk, not on the crew. Call (888) 611-5351 and dispatch tells you which of the two you have.
Will my final bill match the estimate for a Buckhead move, or should I expect it to run over?
It matches the hours the crew actually works, which is why the estimate names the hours and the reasons for them. LIOO Moving bills local Buckhead moves by the hour — $160 for two movers and a truck, $200 for three, $240 for four — on a 2.5-hour weekday minimum (3 hours on weekends, same-day bookings and moves 25 or more miles from downtown), with no separate charge for stairs, carry distance, fuel or the drive from the office, and a 25% reservation deposit that comes off the final invoice. If the crew finishes under the estimate you pay the actual hours, down to the minimum that governs the date; if the freight window closes early or the walk is longer than described, the extra time shows up as time at the same rate, not as a new fee. Pianos, gun safes and anything over 300 pounds carry a $100 specialty-item fee, quoted before you book. Actual costs vary based on inventory, stairs, elevator use, carry distance, and truck access.
Our new apartment's move-in got pushed back. Can I move my Buckhead reservation, and does the deposit carry over?
Yes — call (888) 611-5351 or reply to your reservation email and the date moves, subject to the crew being open on the new day, and the deposit stays credited toward your move on that date; it is not refunded and paid again. Three things from the terms: a new date, origin or destination can change the price if the crew size or the details change, and may carry a reservation change fee; moving the date does not restart the refund window, so a deposit is non-refundable once the scheduled move is 72 hours or less away; and a same-day cancellation, or one after the crew has been dispatched, can mean the deposit and the minimum charge are kept. A Lenox-side tower adds one step — the freight window has to be re-reserved for the new date, and month-end windows book two or three weeks ahead. This summer a Buckhead reservation moved from August 10 to August 24 when the new building's move-in slipped, deposit still credited.

Six roads out of Buckhead, and what waits at the far end
Six roads carry most of Buckhead's outbound moves, and the far end of each swaps the freight window for something else — a gated drive, an older dock, a DeKalb driveway, a river bridge. Only the leg from your door to the new one is on the clock; the drive from the office and back is free. North Buckhead, Lindbergh, Lenox and Chastain Park are quoted from the same board at the same rates.
