Towne Lake: partly in, partly out
Towne Lake, the large master-planned area west of downtown, straddles the city line. Deer Run at Towne Lake and HearthSide Towne Lake are inside the city, while Eagle Watch, the Towne Lake Hills golf course, the Towne Lake Kroger and Northside Hospital’s Towne Lake campus are outside it. Downtown parking and the rail line
Downtown Woodstock runs paid parking in four zones along Main Street, East Main, Chambers and Market, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, with a three-hour limit in each zone; the City Center East deck on Arnold Mill Road adds 633 spaces. The Georgia Northeastern Railroad runs beside Main Street and crosses nine streets at grade inside the city. I-575 and the distance to Atlanta
I-575 has three exits in Woodstock: Exit 7 at SR 92 (Alabama Road), Exit 8 at Towne Lake Parkway and Exit 9 at Ridgewalk Parkway, which opened in 2012 and serves the outlet mall and the apartments around it. Trips south join I-75 toward Atlanta. Public transit is thin: Cherokee Area Transit Service offers book-by-phone demand-response trips, and Xpress lists no Woodstock route. In a straight line the city runs from 22.4 to 28.1 miles from Five Points, with downtown at 25.1 miles.

Who collects trash in Woodstock now?
Inside the city, Red Oak Sanitation collects residential trash: it became the franchised provider on 1 July 2026, and payment activates service, with the first three months due at sign-up. Water depends on the street. Part of the city is on the city’s own Water & Sewer Utility and part is on the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority, so ask which one serves the address. The city utility takes applications online or in person, and asks for a photo ID and, from renters, the signed lease pages.
